Ungulates and Predators of the Maritime Alps
ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION
Immerse yourself in the heart of the Maritime Alps to discover up close the wildlife that inhabits one of the richest and most fascinating areas of the Alpine region. The course offers a combination of theoretical insights and direct field observation, with a focus on Alpine ungulates (chamois, ibex, deer, roe deer, mouflon) and their main predators (wolf, fox, genet, wildcat, lynx, jackal, and bear).

Saturday, March 7
4:00 PM, at the Uomini e Lupi Visitor Center, Piazza Giustizia e Libertà 3 – Entracque
Afternoon dedicated to discovering the ungulates of the Maritime Alps.
The meeting will cover aspects related to the identification and biology of these animals and the signs and traces of their presence that can be recognized in the field.
Saturday, March 14
9:30 AM, location will be communicated to registered participants
Nature excursion: The Cooperative's Park Guides will lead you on a trail in search of signs and tracks of the animals that inhabit our territory.
4:00 PM, at the Uomini e Lupi Visitor Center, Piazza Giustizia e Libertà 3 – Entracque
We will conclude the day with a presentation of the main predators that inhabit, or potentially could inhabit, our territory.
You will be provided with information on the biological, ethological, and conservation aspects of the species discussed.

Information
When? March 7 and March 14, 2026
Where? Uomini e Lupi Visitor Center, Piazza Giustizia e Libertà 3 (for classroom lessons). Instructions for the excursion will be provided to course participants.
Equipment needed for the excursion: Hiking boots are required, comfortable and warm clothing, and a raincoat or poncho in case of unpredictable weather.
Depending on snow conditions, snowshoes may be necessary. These can be requested from the organizers at a cost of €2.00 per pair, or you may bring your own.
Notes:
The activity will take place with a minimum of 8 participants.
This activity is recommended for children 14 years and older.
The activity will be conducted primarily in Italian.
