The UOMINI E LUPI CENTRE
The Uomini e Lupi Centre, inaugurated in 2010 thanks to the great commitment of the Park and the Municipality of Entracque and managed by us since 2013, was born with the main objective of raising public awareness on the problems connected to the presence of the wolf and of deepening the aspects of the biology of the species through interactive installations, dissemination and entertainment activities following the natural return to the Western Alps that this species began to make starting from the 90s. The Center is structured in two complementary sections, namely the Visitor Center in the town of Entracque and the Wildlife Area in the Casermette area.
The Visitor centre offers a tour to discover myths and legends related to wolves and follows the history of the human/wolf relationship up to the present day.
The wildlife area is characterized by a multimedia path that introduces the biology of the wolf in an exciting way and leads to a large enclosure housing some animals no longer able to live in the wild, that can be observed from the watchtowers.
As a whole, the Uomini e Lupi Centre aims to leave visitors better informed and more aware of the possibility of a balance between human activities and the presence of the predator in the alpine environment.
Rather than providing answers, the intent is to offer the visitor the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the wolf and its behavior, allowing them to have all the necessary elements to build an opinion based on documentation, insights and first-hand observations.
Visitor centre

In the Entracque Visitor Centre, the visit is guided by the narrative voice of a storyteller. Listening to the stories told in the Fairytale Tent, in the Bicycle Workshop, in the Portrait Gallery and in the Grotto, a moral emerges that is only apparently obvious: the wolf is neither good nor bad.
The Visitor centre houses the IAT Office (which follows the same opening hours as the visitor centre), a park shop with various gadgets for the mountains and souvenirs of the centre and a book shop with books dedicated to the mountains, the territory and for children. Also at the Visitor Centre it is possible to rent traditional MTBs (telephone reservations are recommended)
Wildlife Area

The Wildlife Area includes an enclosure of about eight hectares inside which are housed some specimens of Canis lupus italicus that can be observed thanks to two watchtowers.
These are exclusively animals that could not live in the wild: either because they are victims of serious accidents, or because they have already been born in captivity.
We would like to emphasize that a wolf sighting in the wild is a very rare and fortuitous event, and even within the Wildlife Area despite it being an enclosed area, because of its size, a wolf sighting is not a completely guaranteed event.
The centre has a small refreshment point where you can taste local products with sandwiches, as well as snacks, ice creams and coffees. Inside there is also a park shop and a book shop.
Regulation
The Uomini e Lupi centre allows you to experience real emotions: through the two possible visits you can explore many different environments, with installations free of architectural barriers; From the watchtowers, you can enjoy the unique experience of observing wolves without filters. In order to take advantage of these great possibilities, we ask you to respect 8 simple rules
Yes to amateur photography
We like to think that you can take home a souvenir of the day. For this reason, you can take non-professional photographs of both the set-ups and the wolf specimens that you observe (fingers crossed!) from the Watchtowers. You can also make videos from the Towers, as long as you do it with non-professional equipment. For the publication of the material produced, it is necessary to specify its origin (#centrofuominielupi). Professional photos and videos must be authorized in advance and will have a cost in relation to the support of the cooperative's staff.
Pets are not allowed in
The set-ups of the visit routes are very delicate. The social balance of the wolves hosted in the Wildlife Area is no less. We have thought a lot about this decision, but no, pets, even on a lead, are not allowed to into The Uomini e Lupi centre
No food and drink
At the Centre, or in nearby shops, you can buy ice cream and many other delicacies! However, we ask you to consume your food outside the exhibition paths and not on the watchtowers
No food for wolves
The diet of the wolves in the Centre is controlled and managed by professionals from the Park. We ask that you do not throw food from the watchtowers. Don't forget that the wolves in the centre, although in captivity, maintain a wild nature: the best way to observe them is to try to remain as silent as possible!
Don't make videos of the set-ups
You can make non-professional videos of the wolves you observe (fingers crossed!) from the Watchtowers, but we ask you not to film the contents of the exhibition.
Do not touch the fittings
. The tours of the Uomini e Lupi centres have no barriers: you can get close to objects and observe the details closely, but we ask you not to touch – or take – the elements on display.
No smoking
You are not allowed to smoke inside the centre, including the lookout towers
Lighters cannot be used
For security reasons, inside the facilities of The Uomini e Lupi centre, you may not use lighters or open flames.
