🎒🥾 Excursion

💧A unique experience in the heart of the Maritime Alps, between nature and engineering, to discover Italy's most powerful hydroelectric plant, designed by Enel Green Power.

The excursion begins at the Visitor Center, where models and scale models will clearly and engagingly illustrate the hydroelectric plant's operation. It's an opportunity to understand firsthand how water energy is transformed into electricity.

🚗 We'll then drive to Lago delle Rovine and, thanks to the exceptionally clear Enel private road, reach the foot of the Chiotas Dam (1,800 m above sea level), entering the heart of the mountain.

From the top of the dam, a fascinating hike begins through spectacular Alpine landscapes, leading us to the Genova Refuge, overlooking the natural lake of Lago del Brocan (2,020 m above sea level).

🏔️ A trail that combines naturalistic interest with discovery of the Alpine historical and engineering context, offering a unique perspective on one of Europe's most important hydroelectric systems.

Elevation gain: approximately 200 m

Easy trail, approximately 7 km; Difficulty level: E

Lunch: Packed lunch (to be provided by participants)

Required equipment: Hiking boots required*, mountain clothing, hat, water, sunscreen, raincoat or poncho; layered clothing is recommended.

NOTE:

• Return will be after lunch, barring adverse weather conditions. Reaching the Rifugio Genova is not guaranteed.
• Dogs are not allowed.
• The excursion will be validated with a minimum of 8 participants.
• Cars and participants will be grouped for travel based on the organizer's needs and the number of cars authorized for access.
