Excursion with a visit to the Bandit Caves

EXCURSION

In the past years, the Maritime Alps have been the site of numerous archaeological finds that testify to the importance of this territory in ancient society. The Valdieri Archaeological Park documents the presence of peoples who inhabited our land since the Bronze Age and later in the Iron Age.

We will retrace the history of the Ligurians and the Celts, discovering their habits, we will reach the Grotte del Bandito: limestone formations that over the centuries have been a place of refuge for large carnivores and men and which today host insects, arthropods, rare amphibians such as the cave salamander and various species of bats.

INFORMATION:

Difference in height: approx. 200 m

Path: Simple route, approx. 7 km; Difficulty level: E

Lunch: packed lunch at the expense of the participants

Material: mountain boots*, mountain clothing, hat, water, sunscreen, k-way or cape, recommended to dress in layers.
